COSTUME DESIGN

As a costume designer, I immerse myself into the character of the person played by the actor. When reading the script, I get a sense of the social environment and the circumstances of the person’s life. mannerisms, dramaturgy of the role and those characteristics that are both obvious and those that may be merely implied. All these are important factors which inspire me during the creative process.
I talk to the director and the actor. In my head, images develop which enhance the artistic process. Materials, colours, fabrics and cuts, as well as small details will provide the finishing touches to my designs.
Good costume design always ties in with the overall concept of directorship, camera, lighting, design and make-up. I think it is important to strengthen the actor’s impersonation of the role by designing the perfect costume. I am fascinated by the process of designing costumes and in doing so contribute to bringing characters in films to life.
